You choose a point you can see within range. In a 30-foot cube originating from that point, the ground turns into ever shifting quicksand. The ground inside the cube becomes difficult terrain.
When a creature enters the spell’s area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it has to make a Dexterity saving throw or become grappled. If a creature that starts their turn in the quicksand has already been grappled by it, they sink into the ground. A creature that is sunken into the ground can’t breathe and takes 5d10 bludgeoning damage at the start of their turn. A creature that is grappled or sunken into the quicksand can make a Strength saving throw at the end of their turn to try and escape the quicksand.
