*Though they might not be the strongest, smartest, or fastest, one cannot deny that hakkari have truly mastered the material world like none other. Their ability to proliferate and thrive in whatever environment is a truly admirable trait, if not a troublesome one.*
*-Lord Emperor Bruegor III*
Hakkari come in many shapes and sizes. Instilled with a resourcefulness and cunning by the arid plains their ancestors walked, most Hakkari know how to get around in the world, whatever way possible. They see opportunity in any situation and can find a home for themselves in any place. This makes Hakkari some of the most effective diplomats the world has ever seen. However, their ambition and knowledge of exploitation often leads them down a darker path than they would like.
#### A Race of Many Faces
By virtue of being great at integrating in a multitude of locations and cultures, Hakkari have found themselves all over the world of Archon. This in turn also causes for a large variety in genetical make up. Hakkari come in a large range of colors from a deep, almost black to very pale. Their builds range from slender to filled, their heights from just below 5 feet to over 6 feet. Their hair comes in a multitude of color, shape, and thickness. Hakkari aren’t only adaptable in their ways, but genetically as well. Hakkari have the special ability to be compatible with many different races, creating a mixture of offspring like halflings, half-elves, and half-orcs.
#### Natural Opportunists
The whole of human history is littered with different ways people have found to exploit chances for the betterment of their lives. There is a natural drive for Hakkari to change their circumstances for their betterment and they are one of the best at doing so. Many Hakkari have found their ways into the higher echelons of dwarven, orcish, and elvish countries via their skill of reading peoples needs and wants. They are incredibly good at drawing out value of an item. They might not be the meticulous delvers like dwarves or have the artistical prowess of elves, but they can make the most out of a single clump of iron or a single plank of wood. Hakkari are born merchants, guild leaders, and diplomats.
#### An Eye for Legacy
As one of the shorter living races in Archon, Hakkari often focus their energy on lasting legacy. Their family or personal name should stand for something throughout the test of time. What that something is, depends on the person. One thing is for sure though, a human will do whatever it takes to not be forgotten. This can take the form of great and terrible deeds or large imposing infrastructure and institutions. By focussing so much on their limited time they gain a great drive to learn and improve whatever it is they value. This also helps them see what is important in their lives. Though an elf might hold onto a slight for the coming 80 years, most Hakkari will forgive a transgression within the decade.
#### Human Names
Human names are, like the race itself, incredibly varied. By mingling and spreading throughout the world, a lot of Hakkari have taken on the naming conventions of the cultures around them. Just like their tongue assimilates a multitude of words, so too do their names take on the forms of Orcish, Dwarvish, Elvish, Gnomish, Reptillian, and the like. However, some more classical Common names still stick in Human names. Especially within Verdania, West Widan, and the Hakkiri Coast.
