Harvesting is the skill of identifying creature parts and safely butchering them so it can be used in crafting, alchemy, or herbalism. To successfully harvest a corpse, you must have *Butcher's tools*, which contains a myriad of knifes, hooks, and pincers for collecting creature parts, as well as a set of preservatives and jars to safely keep the collected parts. *Butcher's tools* can be bought for 10 gp. To harvest a corpse, it cannot be older than 1 hour, for flies, rot, and other more ethereal effects often set in after that time. Harvesting a corpse takes 10 minutes to complete. The first thing you must do when making a *Harvesting* check is determine the type of skill you need to use to harvest that corpse. This is based on the original creature's type. If you have proficiency with the given skill, you can use it for the harvesting check. In addition, if you have proficiency in *Butcher's tools*, you can also gain your proficiency bonus to any skill when making a *Harvesting* check. The DC for the *Harvesting* check is determined by the original creature's CR. If you succeed in your *Harvesting* check, you gain all the creature parts noted in the creature table below. These aren't the prices that the parts would cost in a store, but the cost offset these creature parts have when used in alchemy, crafting, or herbalism. A general store probably would not pay more than a handful of gold coins for a sack of random viscera.
