Staatsgreep 09-11-2025 [[Session 25|<- Previous Session]] ### Recap The Snigg Squad returns to Oreton, where they quickly realize the city has deteriorated significantly, with rampant poverty and destruction. After evading guards who suspect them of magic use, they regroup at the Leaky Tap with Randall, who has been maintaining the rebellion in their absence. They learn of the brutal oppression by the church and the Baron's men, including the branding of rebels as "Arcane Whores." As they prepare for an imminent siege by the Pillager army, each member contributes to the rebellion's efforts, from scouting the Baron's mansion to distributing aid to the needy. Sven faces danger while attempting to infiltrate the church but narrowly escapes with divine intervention. The night before their planned coup, Goryn meets with the Beasty Boys, who offer their support. On the day of the attack, the Squad infiltrates the Baron's mansion, discovering he is under magical control. After breaking the spell, chaos ensues, leading to the revelation of the Baron's death, which they announce to the city, igniting further turmoil as they confront the guards and nobles inside. ### Summary Chaos reigns across the eastern banks of Oreton as the Snigg Squad rushes out of the mansion of the Baron to finish off the High Primogen. In the courtroom, Allen questions the captured nobles to assess their morality, deeming Casius Candlewick pliable enough to blackmail. Sven accidentally kills one of the nobles as they try to escape. Nibiru and Majibili start their assault on the church from high above, while Akhen makes a quick escape with the surviving nobles (who are seemed as paladin), which quickly gains attention of the guards in the courtyard. As Akhen is beat down and Majibiki assaults the church, the rest of the squad tries to aid Akhen and try to make their way to the church. Together with the newly summoned angel of death Sjors, the squad regroups at the steps of the basilica while Majibili readies himself to collapse the roof. Inside the church the battle rages against the paladins led by Herodius. As the fight goes on, Majibili realises the fight to be the perfect cover for the High Primogen to escape and flies outside. There he doesnt only see the primogen escaping, but he also sees the iron wolves interfering with the guard battle at the prison. Choosing to stop the primogen, Majibili pursues the corrupt priest. High in the skies he turns into a whale and completely flattens the primogen from above, destroying a bridge in the process. Back in the church, the fighting has cautiously stopped as Allen tries to broker a parlay. The paladins reluctantly stand down and they discuss the happenings under a zone of truth. Joined by some of the guardsmen from the Baron's mansion, the three spokespeople (Allen, Herodius the paladin, and Baines the guard) decide to go help quench the fighting over at the prison. However, as they move in towards the prison complex, Sven notices the Iron Wolves operating under a false flag and trying to off guards to fuel the fighting. Enraged he tries to attack one of them, which angers the guards. Goryn and Allen manage to calm down most of the fighting with a comvined calm emotions and stinking cloud maneuvre (plus a bunch of persuasion). However, the iron wolves dont let up, but they are hunted down by Akhen and Sjors. After stopping the raid on the prison and successfully (although with high casualties) extracting Liam, the garrison, paladins, and the snigg squad help the wounded and discuss the next steps for oreton now that the ruling heads have been removed. They decide to meet up after helping the bystanders of the chaotic attacks and assemble a council who will vote on the next leader of oreton. Joining the council are both Herodius and Dannard(the interim primogen) to represent the church, both Freek and Liam (current and previous captains), Gunther, Foreman Steven of the mines, Headmaster Jannick of the Academy, Randall and Allen of the rebellion, the butcher Glyndolin as voice of the people, and the snigg squad. During the council, the squad collates the evidence they collected during their journeys, linking together their letters and documents together with eyewitnesses. They convince the council of the Barons corruption and collusion with the cult of Koth, as well of the Pillager threat. They even manage to weed out a pillager spy in Oreton, Hastings, by using the pillager ledger. After a long and arduous discussion the final vote for the leader of Oreton is taken. The votes are split between a noble called Byron, Herodius, and Allen. Though the votes are very close, a legendary speech finally wins over the council and Allen is crowned the new regent of Oreton. With the new leader assigned, the squad turns to the people of Oreton and tell them about the corruption, the direction for oreton in the future, and ofcourse the pillager threat marching upon the city. Though the weak and young are to be guided out of the city by the clerics of Herodius, all abled bodies must help in the fight. After the speech, the squad is called in by Randall to negotiate for the mercenaries. Though they are eager for help, after the deal is pushed through, Goryn and Nibiru sadly realise the old, long bearded man is part of the Chalice of Vitality. The next few days before the siege are spent preparing for the battle. Both drildo and sven try to hinder the army, while majibili musters giant awakened spiders. Allen tries to tie things over with Svenrok and the people of Oreton, Goryn helps the levies find their voice, Nibiru builds balistas, the professor scouts for geographical advantage, and akhen spies in the Chalice mercenaries. With the army of the pillagers approaching fast, will the forces of Oreton be enough to withstand the magical assault? And where in the nine hells has Nyx disappeared to? ### NPCs **Fahrner Garnhaven.** Noble who heads the grain and agricultural imports of Oreton.
