Patron's Fest 30-11-2023 [[Session 10|<- Previous Session]] ### Recap ### Summary After a safe nights rest in Lauma's Grove, the party awakens near the tree spirit. The morning is slow and calm, as very few mornings have been for the Snigg Squad. While waking up the professor and Bradley surmise their new companions and share their distrust in both Majibili's and Nibiru's trustworthiness. All the while, Gunther and Nibiru play with a set of cards, while Majibili attends to the owlbears resting near Lauma's pond. Eventually, Gunther and Bradley get the owlbears far enough to give them massages as they discuss options for the upcoming rebellion, while the professor tries to talk to Nibiru. After their lush morning, the party decides to continue onwards back to Oreton. They say their farewells to Lauma and exit his grove. However, while walking away the party finds their surroundings dissolve into a different environment. Suddenly, they are standing in a clearing in a different and off-feeling forest. The only thing in sight is a garden table decked with tea and snacks and six chairs. Each seat has a name plate meant for one of the party members. Cautiously, the party approaches and tries to discover if it is a possible trap, or a very warm welcome. After many deliberations, the party decides to sit down at the table. When the last person sits, a sudden magical effect creates a sort of chariot meets birdcage from rose bushes and vines which starts to levitate and bring the party to an unknown destination. While flying over the forests and hills of the Feywild, the party tried a diverse set of reactions to their predicament. As Smonk nears the edge of the flying plateau, the vines grow to form a sort of railing to keep him from falling out. While seated, the party all magically got fitted with opulent uniforms, much to the chagrin of Majibili. While the druid is fighting with his clothes, the rest of the party debates whether or not they should eat anything from the table. People try damaging the cutlery and table, which magically reseals itself, while Gunther thinks of random food items that he wants to eat to see if they would appear (which they do, to an extent). After 15 minutes of flying over the landscape, the professor notices a grand castle in the distance, as well as a flock of other birdcage carriages arriving from all over the place, flying towards the castle. Concluding the castle to be their destination, the party sits tight and waits for their carriage to arrive. The carriage landed in a large hangar surrounded by similar flying cages containing a plethora of people and creatures. Many races that the party knows or have heard of, but few that are completely new to them. Still confused about what is going on, the party slowly stands up and joins the crowd slowly herding towards a large double door. Bumping into a creature they have never seen before, the party asks a kind of lizard person called Xulhan what is going on exactly. Though Xulhan doesn't quite know what is happening, they know that it is something called the Patron's Fest, and it is the first time they have joined as well. Further conversation about where Xulhan is from reveals that he is from a place called Duagar, and they don't recognize the Widelands or Usworld in general. Before the conversation can continue, the large double doors open and the crowd is led into a large hall for the opening of the Patron's Fest.
